Seguin ISD welcomed 7,064 students in 2021-22 school year

There were 7,064 students enrolled in Seguin ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.3% of them were boys, and 47.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 70.7% of the Seguin ISD total enrollment.

Seguin ISD roughly covers schools within Guadalupe County with its main office in Seguin.

Among the 14 schools in Seguin ISD, Seguin High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,065 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
