Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) congratulated Ms. Gabriella Garza for the remarkable achievement of winning the Congressional Art Competition for the 15th Congressional District of Texas.

“I am pleased to announce Ms. Gabriella Garza of Edinburg North High School as the winner of the Congressional Art Competition. Her inspiring artwork features a scene of her grandfather and his beloved sheep in their barn. I extend my warmest congratulations on this well-deserved accomplishment. Gabriella should be proud of her amazing work and the effort she put into the piece. Her painting is a reflection of the 15th District’s talent and the hardworking family-oriented citizens who live there. I have no doubt this accomplishment will inspire others to strive for greatness.”

The winner and her parent will be flown to Washington for a special reception of recognition. The art will then be displayed in the U.S. Capitol along with selected winners from other Congressional Districts.

Ms. Garza is an art student of Ms. Larissa Barron. The Congresswoman’s selection board included the following art professionals from TX-15: Sandra Schultz, Kitty Keller, Celeste Torres, and Banner Moreno. The finalists were judged at Alice High School.
