New Braunfels ISD welcomed 9,745 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 9,745 students enrolled in New Braunfels ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.1% of them were boys, and 47.9% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among New Braunfels ISD students was Hispanic, accounting for 48.1% of the student population.

New Braunfels ISD roughly covers schools within Comal County with its main office in New Braunfels.

Among the 15 schools in New Braunfels ISD, New Braunfels High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,926 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
