On May 18, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) proudly announced her co-sponsorship of the Senior Citizens Tax EliminationAct (H.R. 3206), a vital piece of federal legislation aimed at supporting seniors in Texas and across America. By eliminating the unfair double-taxation on Social Security benefits, this bill will provide much-needed financial relief to millions of seniors who rely on fixed incomes.

The Senior Citizens Tax Elimination Act represents a significant step towards creating a fairer tax system that recognizes the contributions and sacrifices made by our senior citizens. Under current law, many seniors face the burden of paying taxes on their hard-earned Social Security benefits, which places an undue strain on their financial well-being.
