The Guadalupe Blanco River Authority will receive $47.1 million from the Texas Water Development Board's State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT).

The Mid-Basin Water Supply Project will be able to save over $5 million with the help of this grant to the GBRA, which includes Guadalupe, Comal, Hays and Caldwell counties. The Texas Water Newsroom reported the project will construct a well field that includes 58 miles of pipeline and a water treatment plant that will treat 33.5 million gallons per day. The project will help the authority meet water demands it is seeing with the growing population

This will be the second grant the GBRA has received from the SWIFT program, the first being in 2018. SWIFT initially provided $165.8 million to the Mid-Basin Water Supply Project for an earlier stage of construction. But during the earlier stage, the GBRA said it would need more financial assistance for the project to be completed.
