South Texas Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) has cast her vote to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas for what she perceives as his failure to fulfill his duty of securing the border. His negligence poses a dire threat to the safety of Texans and countless Americans."

The Congresswoman has been vocal in her demands for Secretary Mayorkas to honor his oath and strictly enforce border policies. She believes that the Biden administration's dismantling of proven security protocols has led to an unprecedented surge in illegal border entries. Congresswoman De La Cruz emphasized that her vote to impeach Secretary Mayorkas sends a clear message to federal officials who neglect to enforce America's laws: there will be consequences.

Congresswoman De La Cruz has a strong record on border security. She has introduced several bills aimed at addressing the issue, including H.R. 5694: Pay Our Border Patrol and Customs Agents Act, H.R. 1076: Preventing the Financing of Illegal Synthetic Drugs Act, H.R. 6921: Southern Border Farmers and Ranchers Protection Act, and H.R. 1542: Mayorkas Must Fly Coach Until We Secure the Border Act. Additionally, she supported the passage of H.R. 2: Secure the Border Act of 2023.
