Guadalupe County recently laid out a plan on how it will use $250,000 in COVID-19 federal funding.
“It shows the state what we’re going to be spending the money on,” Emergency Management Coordinator/Fire Marshal Patrick Pinder told the Seguin Economic Development Corp. website. “We have until the 20th of December to update and change this.”
The Seguin Gazetts reports the spending plan includes funding for employee COVID-19 testing, the hiring of a temporary employee to work on the county’s response to the coronavirus, temperature screening kiosks, and UV air sterilization equipment for county buildings. Funding to provide the sheriff’s office and first responders with laptop computers is also being considered in the budget.
The money Guadalupe County received is from $11 billion that Texas was given as part of the CARES Act funding.
