City of Garden Ridge issued the following announcement on Nov. 25
The Parks Committee has created a safe way to continue our yearly celebration of the holidays by creating a Drive-Thru experience called Santa Claus Lane. The event will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, from 6pm to 8:30pm. Individuals may start lining up for the drive-thru at 5:30pm. This celebration includes the tree lighting, Santa, raffles for kids and adults, candy treat bags, masked elf helpers, traditional decorations along with new surprises, and FM radio broadcast through station 106.5FM!
The event kicks off with the tree lighting at 6pm; therefore, make sure you arrive early to find a great viewing spot for your vehicle as you must remain inside it. The Mayor of Garden Ridge will have a special holiday greeting before everyone takes off down Santa Claus Lane. Every vehicle will have the chance to visit with Santa Claus, drop off their Letter to Santa, collect some candy goody bags, and donate to the Children's Advocacy Center of Comal County by selecting the 2020 City of Garden Christmas Tree Ornament. The suggested donation is $5.00, but more is always appreciated! All proceeds will go towards the Children's Advocacy Center of Comal County.
The Christmas Tree Lighting will be conducted with COVID-19 in mind; therefore, the Parks Committee has a few rules that must be followed.
- Please stay in your vehicle as this event is Drive-Thru only!
- All Volunteers will be wearing gloves, masks, and social distancing to protect you! Please respect them and also practice any safety measures.
- No bathroom facilities will be available!
Santa Claus and his reindeer will be waiting for you, along with his helpers and special performances by Kathy Roden and Kyle Laneford. We can't wait to start our 6th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting with all of you!
