City of New Braunfels issued the following announcement on Nov. 19.
Many City of New Braunfels facilities will be closed on Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Here’s a look at the holiday schedule for city facilities and operations:
Das Rec
Das Rec, the city’s Recreation Center, will have reduced hours on Wednesday Nov. 25th from 5am to 7pm, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26th, and will have reduced hours on Friday, Nov. 27th from 8am to 5pm. Normal operating hours will resume on Saturday, Nov. 28th.
Garbage and Recycling Collection
There will be no residential or commercial collection on Thursday, Nov. 26th for garbage, recycling, or green waste. Residents whose designated collection day is Thursday will have their collection shifted to Friday, Nov. 27th. Collection days will resume their normal schedule the following week.
The City Recycle Center will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26th and Friday, Nov. 27th and will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 28th at 8am. The administrative offices for the City’s Solid Waste and Recycling Division (located at 424 South Castell Avenue) will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26th and Friday, Nov. 27th.
Library
The New Braunfels Public Library will close at 6pm on Wednesday, Nov. 25th and reopen on Monday, Nov. 30th at 10am. The book return will remain available throughout for returns.
Park Facilities and Amenities
The Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26th and will re-open on Friday, Nov. 27th with normal operating hours.
The Landa Recreation Center will be closed Nov. 26th through Nov. 29th. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 30th.
The Landa Park Mini Golf Course, Landa Park Paddle Boats, and the Landa Park Aquatic Center are currently closed for the season.
The Fischer Park Nature Education Center will be closed Nov. 26th and 27th. Normal business hours will resume on Saturday, Nov. 28th.
Westside Community Center
The Westside Community Center will close at 5pm on Wednesday, Nov. 25th and reopen on Monday, Nov. 30th at 9am.
