CITY OF NEW BRAUNFELS: City Closures & Operation Modifications in Observance of July 4th Holiday

City of New Braunfels issued the following announcement on June 30.

Most City of New Braunfels facilities will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observation of our nation’s Independence Day.

 Most City of New Braunfels facilities, including City Hall, the Library, Parks & Recreation administrative offices, the Fischer Park Nature Center, the Municipal Annex, the city’s Recycling Center, and the Westside Community Center will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observation of our nation’s Independence Day.  

Curbside solid waste and recycling services (including garbage, recycling, and green waste pickup) will occur as normally scheduled.  The city’s Recycling Center will reopen on Saturday, July 4th from 8am-12pm & 12:30pm - 4pm, and will be closed on both Sunday and Monday, July 5th & 6th.

Das Rec will continue its normal hours of operation on Friday, July 3rd from 5am-9:30pm.  There will be modified hours of operation on Saturday, July 4th, from 8am-5pm.  And regular hours of operation will return on Sunday, July 5th, from 7am-8pm.

The Landa Park Golf Course has reopened following a thorough sanitization and negative test results of employees.  The Golf Course will have modified hours of operation over the weekend.  On July 3rd & 5th the facility will be open from 12pm-7pm and on July 4th from 10am-7pm.  Additionally, the Landa Park Miniature Golf Course will be open from 10am-10pm on July 3rd & 4th, and from 10am-8pm on July 5th.  The Landa Park Train is open daily from 10am until dark.  The Landa Park Boathouse is temporarily closed. 

River parks along the Comal River and Guadalupe River within the city limits of New Braunfels have been closed.  This includes Prince Solms Park, Hinman Island, River Acres Park, and Cypress Bend Park.  Other city-owned riverfront property that is controlled or maintained by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department is also closed, including the wading pool in Landa Park, the Garden St. Exit, the Last Public Exit, and the area under the Faust Street Bridge.

The 4th of July fireworks display in Landa Park has been postponed to a date that has not yet been determined.  City officials are asking residents to please stay home and safely enjoy the 4th of July weekend while following the CDC’s recommendations and the Governor’s Executive Orders.  The City Fire Marshals Office would also like to remind residents and visitors that the possession or use of any kind of firework is prohibited (illegal) inside the city limits of New Braunfels. Anyone found to be in possession of or using fireworks within the city limits may be issued a citation and have their fireworks confiscated.
