City of Fair Oaks Ranch issued the following announcement on June 9.
Every year about this time, all of us begin receiving ad valorem property tax information. One of the things that confuses everyone is who sets the property tax rates and who actually collects the bills.
A couple of years ago, the Kendall County Appraisal District, which had historically collected city property taxes regardless of which county you live in, decided they no longer wanted to provide this service. That caused our city to find a new service provider to bill and collect CITY property tax payments. That new service provider is the Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector office. Now, let’s remind ourselves who does what?
