New Braunfels Municipal Court is currently not open to the public, but a limited number of staff members are still working in order to keep cases moving forward for defendants.  Specifically, the Court is continuing to process cases by accepting payments and by offering a Virtual Court option for defendants.

“We know this is a difficult time for many, and the court does not want concern over citations or court dates to add to individuals’ burdens,” said Judge Rose Zamora. “We have a few staff members in the office each day to answer questions by email and phone and to process defendant payments to help them move to closing out their cases.”

The Court is also offering Virtual Court, which facilitates a hearing with the Prosecutor or Judge via the internet. Virtual Court hearings can be scheduled with an email request to court@nbtexas.org and participants will need internet access and a computer or mobile device with a camera and microphone.

“For those defendants or attorneys who would like to address a case now rather than at a future date, Virtual Court is an easy way to handle their case,” said Zamora.

Court deadlines have been extended due to the ongoing COVD-19 circumstances. Contact the Court at (830) 221-4180 for information on your specific case.
