CITY OF NEW BRAUNFELS: City Recycle Center Update

City of New Braunfels issued the following announcement on March 12

In response to downstream processor mandates, The City of New Braunfels Recycle Center will be implementing the following changes to acceptable items effective March 4, 2020. Please note, these changes do not affect City curbside (Blue Bin) collections.

Plastic Foam #6 “Styrofoam” – Will only be accepted if it is uncolored (white), free of any coloring or stickers/labels, and must be separated from other recyclables. Example: Protective packaging for furniture. Foam meeting this requirement must be brought in person to the Recycle Center during operating hours.

Cardboard – Must be center cut or folded into pieces no larger than 30 inches x 60 inches. Approximately the size of a coffee tabletop.

As a reminder, Scrap Metal items such as water heaters, chain-link fencing, BBQ grills, bed frames, and Freon-free appliances will continue to be accepted.

The Recycle Center is located at 488 S. Castell Ave and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. More information can be found at www.nbtexas/recycling
